Director's Message

Message from Rakesh Kumar Srangal (KAS)
Director School Education Jammu, J & K

Life is a journey till end and so does the Education. There is never any point in the life of a person when he says. “There is nothing more to learn”. Education is not just confined to subjects that are learnt and taught in school. First, we need to be on the same platform whether its children, teachers or parents. Everyone has to understand that education is not restricted to lessons taught in the classroom from text books. Teachers must encourage children to ask as many questions as they can. For it is in wanting to know that will result in actually getting to know. Since our province is diversified as for as the its hilly terrains is concerned, majority of population is putting up there. Parents have a lot of hope on our institutions. The thirst for knowledge is must never stop. It is also essential for a teacher to keep adding to their own knowledge bank by keeping their eyes and ears open and by reading as much as possible and ensuring that children imbibes these habits as well.
Discipline must be the attitude, whether we are in Class or in a playfield or in an office, discipline, punctuality and commitment are the key factors for achieving success at any level.Besides all of the above, schools and teachers must ensure that children must develop the art of creativity and imagination. Knowledge is limited to all we know but imagination embraces the whole world, as these two qualities help them in growing into productive adults which makes them great contributors towards mankind in future.

Teachers who are in this noble profession and putting their best efforts for growing these saplings to a plant and finally into a tree has the major role to play. As there is common proverb, “ As you sow, so shall you reap”. Tools for measuring quality of service delivered by the teachers are in place which helps even teachers to judge their service towards the students.

The Institutions where ICT labs are in place, there, the subject teachers must create their own PPT presentations carrying audio and video aspects into it where ever it is applicable as the use of audio and video aspects into teaching leads to better retention of what being taught. A lot of training programmes for teachers under CSS are in pipeline which will lead them to deliver better in future, making our students compete in a better way. Besides some new instances like DIKSHA a National Teachers platform will be in place very shortly. First teachers need to be trained on DIKSHA for creating high quality teaching and learning materials to be shared across regions.

Hon’ble Chief Minsiter’s Super 50 classes and remedial classes are in place and shall further strengthened.

The HP MDM online monitoring software for Mid Day Meals is in place and will be strengthened.

In order to make the School Education System transparent and vibrant, three tier monitoring system i.e Zonal, District & Divisional level of this Directorate has been constituted in order to ensure proper monitoring.
Since new academic year is at hand, my message to the Principals, Lecturers, Headmasters, Masters and Teacher of Jammu province, is to fully dedicate themselves to their assignments and rest all leave to GOD.
